Parish Life Faith Formation - Youth
3 In One Youth Ministry Logo 3 in One Youth Ministry serves the youth of Saint Jerome, Saint Philip and Saint Joseph Parishes.

MISSION STATEMENT: Foster a deep sense of Catholic identity among the youth of Battle Creek in an intentional and engaging manner. Through our example of discipleship and friendships rooted in faith we will grow together in understanding of the Catholic faith and our spirituality.

3 in One is looking for adults of any age to serve our youth, if you feel called to serve please contact The Tri-Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator, Andrea Perry, for more information, email aperry@bcacs.org or call (cell#) 269-788-7000.

Why Youth Ministry? Youth ministry is discipleship not just gathering a crowd -Our goal is to help teens follow Christ with all of their life.

Goal 1: To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today. Youth ministry can reach teens in a city for the Church not just a church -We are here to serve our city not just our church

Goal 2: To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community. Connect a teen to the church today and they will connect with the church in college!

Goal 3: To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Please consider joining us this Fall for Middle School and High School Ministry! To join our email chain - fill out a registration form or send an email to aperry@bcacs.org

EDGE is a structured program of faith lessons that include catechesis nights, issue nights, and social nights. These nights are designed to
  • Create a fun, safe place to spend time with their Catholic friends.
  • Help our youth get answers to their unanswered questions about their Catholic faith.
  • Help our youth experience Jesus Christ in a profound, personal way.
  • Help our Youth feel like they are important to everyone else in the parish.

High School Youth Ministry - "3 in One"

Our high school Ministry program is rooted in living out our faith through Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. We have currently adopted our curriculum from the Center for Ministry Development.

"The Center for Ministry Development supports the development of youth ministry that implements the U.S. Bishops' document, Renewing the Vision—A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry (1997). This vision proposes a holistic ministry with youth that is directed towards the goals of empowering disciples, promoting participation in the community, and fostering the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person." - CMD website

Bi-Weekly gatherings:

Youth group meets two times per month to grow in faith and community. September through May.

- Middle School on Fridays at St. Joseph or St. Philip
- High School on Sundays at St. Jerome

3 in One Volunteers

If you are interested in helping with youth ministry at St. Joseph Church or St. Philip Church in the areas of baking/cooking, fundraising, prayer team, event planning, and music ministry or if you would be interested in assisting with either middle school or high school Ministry please contact Andrea Perry, Tri-Parish Youth Director aperry@bcacs.org or 269-788-7000.

Core Team volunteer- (Youth Leader)
A Core Member is an adult who is responding to his or her baptismal call to serve in youth ministry. 3 in One is a program where one can be in a healthy, ministerial relationship with young people. The goal for this role is to lead teens closer to Christ. It is a call to evangelize youth when they need it most. A core member has both an opportunity and an invitation to reach young people during this critical, life-defining time. A Core Member is an important role model in our youth’s lives. Their approach to ministry should be rooted in service, commitment and dedication to the Church and the youth they serve.

We are looking for people all ages 18 and above. A healthy Core Team has a range of ages, backgrounds, and personalities. Any person called by God to serve in this capacity, regardless of age or background, can be an instrument to lead teens closer to Christ. All that is needed is a faithful heart and willing spirit.

Junior Core
This volunteer is either a junior or Senior in High school who has a desire to serve the middle school youth. You will assist the core team in all facets of middle school ministry.

Baking/ Snack Provider
This role consists of providing a snack for our youth on a Monthly basis. You pick the week and provide either a store bought or homemade snack. It’s that simple! This role is greatly appreciated as it allows our ministry to put our monies towards other youth opportunities. (ie.- lowering the cost of a retreat!)

Fundraising Team
In this role a volunteer helps to plan and execute yearly fund raisers. We are in great need of volunteers for this team. We are offering 6 opportunities for our youth to encounter Christ in the Greater community! We want to make these opportunities affordable to all!

Prayer Team
The prayer team has the most important role! We have over 300 youth that need your prayers! We want every youth to have a prayer partner! When a youth goes on retreat or on a mission we will notify you. It is so important that we are praying for our youth! If you would like to become a prayer partner please contact the Tri-Parish youth Director.

Music Ministry
We are currently seeking individuals who can play the guitar and/or piano. This volunteer would attend either Friday or Sunday youth group 2 times per month during the praise and worship portion of our evening. (approx. 20min) they are welcome to stay for the entire night as well.

A parent or community member who is over 21 and virtus trained that is willing to join us on any event that takes us off campus. A love for Jesus and youth is all you need for this role!

Why Fund raise??
We are offering the Battle Creek youth several different faith filled experiences! Why not do them all! So how does fundraising work?
  • As youth participate in fundraisers the money they raise is logged for the year. At any time the youth may access their “Youth Bucks” to participate in any one of these events.
  • Youth may participate in all of the fundraisers if they chose! The more you participate the more “youth bucks” you accrue.
  • We ask that parents participate by hosting the fundraisers
  • We will set them up, promote them, and make sure you have all you need, parents show up and make sure they happen!
